I qualified as a Hypnotherapy Practitioner in 2007 at The Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School in Bristol.
I hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (DHP). I work full time as a therapist and have successfully helped countless clients achieve and often exceed their personal aims.
I am a registered member of the following associations. As a member of these organisations I adhere to their strict codes of conduct and ethical guidelines. You will find me listed on all of their websites. I strongly advise that you verify the registration of any therapist in order to ensure the validity of their membership, and to ensure that the organisations bear relevant accreditation within the UK complementary health profession.
National Council for Hypnotherapy (MNCH Reg)
Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (MAfSFH)
Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO)
Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques (AAMET)
I trained to become a Hypnotherapy practitioner with David Newton, now considered to be the leading Hypnotherapy trainer in the UK. David's dedication to his profession has helped to attain the highest standards for all graduates and he continues to contribute immensely to Hypnotherapy in the UK becoming more and more widely recognised within the healthcare profession.
I am also an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix reimprinting (MR) practitioner. Adding these essentially simple and often profoundly effective techniques seamlessly into my existing hypnotherapy practice has further expanded the scope and flexibility of my skills as a therapist. I trained with Karl Dawson, who is one of only 29 EFT Masters in the world. Karl founded MR. For more information about EFT & MR please click below .
I am pleased that an increasing number of mainstream medical professionals are steadily embracing the versatile efficacy of my profession with more and more GPs now recognising that Hypnotherapy and EFT can work alongside their medical practices as a ‘complementary therapy’ and is able to help alongside their expertise.
This is why I will always prefer to refer my profession as complementary rather than alternative.
Although I take my work very seriously, there is one factor that is of prime importance to me and that is to make every client session something to look forward to and to make every session as productive, and when appropriate, light-hearted while working together (After all, when we laugh and smile we’re producing all the right chemicals in the brain). Clients may experience a range of mixed emotions during a course of treatment. Therapy should be viewed as a process rather than a single event and during this process sometimes these emotions need to be released. Therefore multiple sessions are usually required for the majority of cases, although one session is sufficient for most smoking cessation in the majority of cases to date. If you decide to go ahead with a course of treatment after your free initial consultation, all I ask is that you actively participate, get on board and commit yourself to the process, be patient enough not to expect a magical ‘quick fix’, but to see it through to the point of noticeable and sustainable positive change. You will know better than anyone when you have achieved this. Precisely how many sessions will vary from person to person.
My background is varied. For many years I worked as a freelance professional musician. I have worked with many different musical artists as a pianist and keyboard player & I have travelled extensively to many different countries around the world. My own personal experience within the performing arts profession has since helped both professional & amateur performers with overcoming stage fright to maximize personal performance. Whether the techniques applied are to enhance musical performance, public speaking, interview confidence, or sports performance, and to instil a new positive belief system which helps the body and brain to function to their best. When these changes have taken place the results in most cases are very significant.
